By visiting our digital properties, you are accepting the practices described in our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the digital properties. 

LiftFund Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We understand the importance of your personal information and provides our Privacy Policy below so you can understand our privacy practices and our efforts to protect your information. Personal information includes information that can be used to identify you individually and as it is defined by applicable law (referred to throughout as “personal information”). 

Purpose 

This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information when you use our services. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. We use your personal information for providing and improving the services. By using the service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service, accessible at https://www.liftfund.com.

Scope and Applicability

This Privacy Policy applies to our website, www.liftfund.com, and any other websites, mobile applications, and other platforms or services (the “Digital Properties”) that are owned and controlled by LiftFund, Inc. (hereafter referred to as the “LiftFund,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), where this Privacy Policy is posted (collectively, with the Digital Properties, referred to throughout this Privacy Policy as the “Services”). This Privacy Policy applies to all users of any of the Services (“you”, “your”, “user”). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Services, you agree to our Terms of Service for the Services and to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

Collection and Use of Information 

While using our Service, we collect personal information, such as contact information (e.g., name, email address, mailing address, and phone number), social security number, financial information (e.g., bank routing numbers and other billing information), demographic information (e.g., age, education, and geographic location), and preferences. 

We collect this information for the purpose of providing the Service, identifying and communicating with you, responding to your inquiries, servicing your loan applications, sending customer service-related requests, and improving our services.

Donor Information

We do not sell, share or trade our donors’ personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. This policy applies to all information received and collected by LiftFund, both online and offline, as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications. 

To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information is only used for purposes necessary to process the donation.

Log Data

We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service (“Log Data”) from various technologies, including “clear gifs” or “web beacons.” This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device addresses (MAC Address), ID’s, web browser, browser type, browser version, device type, features of apps used, web pages or sites visited before or just after using the service, pages or other content viewed or interact with on the service, the pages of our service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. We could also use technologies to collect information regarding interaction with email messages (whether messages were opened, clicked on, or forwarded). 

In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this type of information in order to increase our service’s functionality. These third-party service providers have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.

Third Party Web Beacons and Buttons

LiftFund may implement third-party content or advertising on services which could use clear gifs or other forms of web beacons. This content allows a third-party content provider to read and write cookies to a user’s browser, in connection with the user viewing third-party content on the service. 

LiftFund may implement third-party buttons (such as Facebook “like” or “share” buttons) that might allow third parties to collect your information through third parties’ browser cookies, even when users do not interact with the button. Information collected through web beacons and buttons is collected directly by these third parties, and we do not participate in that data transmission. Information collected by a third party in this manner is subject to that third party’s own data collection, use, and disclosure policies.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and transferred to your device. We use cookies to collect information to improve our services for you. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after browsers are closed. A persistent cookie remains after browsers are closed and may be used by browsers on subsequent visits to our websites or services. 

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. The Help feature on most browsers provide information on how to accept cookies, disable cookies or to notify you when receiving a new cookie. 

You can control the use of cookies through your browsers. If cookies are deleted or rejected, you may still use peruse services, but the ability to use some of the features or areas might be limited. If you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some features of our Services, and we recommend that you leave them turned on.

Information from Other Sources

We may obtain personal information from third parties and sources other than our Services, such as our advertisers and partners (including through referrals of borrower applications). This information may include all personal information provided during the third-party application process. The information these other third-party partners provide us with will be governed by this policy. 

If we combine or associate information from other sources with personal information we collect through the service, we will treat the combined information as personal information in following this policy.

How We Use the Information We Collect

We use the information we collect on the service in a variety of ways, including the following:

  • To operate, maintain, and improve all service features, deliver requested services and information, respond to customer inquiries, and provide support.
  • Review and analyze credit history, allow financial service partners to set up automated payments and fund transfers, conduct necessary collection activities, and communicate with users about their transactions and accounts.
  • Providing pre-approved credit offers to applicants.
  • Assess and evaluate customer activity patterns and preferences to enhance our services, as well as to inform people about the development of new products, features, and functionalities.
  • To contact customers for administrative reasons, customer service, or to send updates about LiftFund and partner promotions or events. See “Choices” below to opt out of promotional communications.
  • Personalizing our services by remembering user information, so it doesn't need to be re-entered on later visits.
  • Delivering tailored ads, content, and information.
  • Monitoring and measuring service and third-party marketing effectiveness may involve using customer data for testing. LiftFund will strive to redact PII when third parties conduct tests on their behalf.
  • Tracking overall site activity, including visitor counts and page views.
  • Monitoring entries, submissions, and their status in any promotions or other activities on the services.

When We Disclose Information

LiftFund shares personal information with third parties as outlined in this policy. Disclosure to third parties may occur with prior consent or under the following circumstances:

  • LiftFund collaborates with various third parties that provide essential services for internal operations, such as credit bureaus, collection agencies, electronic payment service providers, customer support call centers, and other service providers. Information is shared with these entities solely as needed to facilitate customer transactions or carry out specific services, including collections and identity verification.
  • We partner with third-party providers for website, app development, hosting, maintenance, and related services. These parties may access user information only as needed to perform their tasks, and they must keep this data confidential.
  • If you accessed LiftFund via a third-party partner, LiftFund may share information with that partner regarding approved or denied applications and related loan performance.
  • Information—whether automatically collected, aggregated, personal, or non-personal—may be made accessible to third parties for purposes such as fulfilling reporting obligations, supporting business, analytic, or marketing activities, and providing insight into users’ interests, habits, and usage patterns related to specific programs, content, services, advertisements, promotions, and functionalities offered through the service.
  • Information may be disclosed as required by law or when deemed necessary. Such disclosures can occur to comply with state and federal regulations, court orders, judicial or government subpoenas or warrants, during bankruptcy proceedings, or to cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental agencies.
  • We reserve the right to disclose customer information when, in good faith, we determine such action is appropriate or necessary to: (i) take precautions against liability; (ii) protect ourselves or others from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful conduct or activities; (iii) investigate and defend against any third-party claims or allegations; (iv) safeguard the security or integrity of LiftFund, including any facilities or equipment used to provide LiftFund’s products, services, and website; or (v) protect our property or other legal rights (including, but not limited to, the enforcement of our agreements), as well as the rights, property, or safety of others.
  • We may share customer information, including personal data, with third parties during mergers, acquisitions, financing, asset sales, insolvency, bankruptcy, receivership, or similar business transactions.

Choices

Customers may choose not to provide certain personal information, but this may limit available features. To access or update personal information, users can contact LiftFund at info@liftfund.com. The ability to change data depends on account type and status; updates will appear in active databases quickly. LiftFund may retain submitted information for backup, legal, analytics, fraud prevention, or other legitimate reasons.

  • Customers who receive commercial emails from LiftFund can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions provided in the email. They also have the option to opt out of receiving future commercial emails and other promotional communications by sending a request to info@liftfund.com or by writing to the address listed at the end of this policy. Additionally, through account settings on the service, users can view and adjust their preferences for promotional communications.
  • When you change your email preferences with LiftFund, it may take up to fifteen business days to process your request. During this time, you may still receive promotional messages about your service.
  • LiftFund do not specifically respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. Some third-party websites keep track of browsing activities, including other websites visited on the Internet, enabling these third-party sites to tailor what is presented to customers. Web browsers might allow a setup of a DNT signal. The customer can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting the Preferences or Settings page of their web browser.
  • Customers can request LiftFund to delete personal information collected and inform their service providers (if any) to do the same, subject to certain exceptions (an example being, if LiftFund is legally required to keep the information, for situations such as legal holds).

Communications

We may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribed link or instructions provided in any email we send or by contacting us.

Compliance With Laws

We will disclose your Personal Information where required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement or to protect the security or integrity of our Service.

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services and/or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. 

These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use your information for any other purpose. 

The Service may include features or links to websites and services operated by third parties. Information provided on these external sites or services is supplied directly to their operators and governed by the policies regarding privacy and security set by those operators, if applicable, even when accessed through the Service. LiftFund does not assume responsibility for the content, privacy, security, practices, or policies of any third-party site accessed through LiftFund sites. It is advisable to review the privacy and security policies of third-party providers before submitting information on their platforms.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, and we strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information we store, to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure. 

We use physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to protect personal data. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any information stored or sent to LiftFund, as transmission is at your own risk. Data may still be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed if these safeguards are breached. 

If a security breach occurs, LiftFund may notify users electronically or post a notice through the service so users can act to protect themselves.

International Visitors

LiftFund services are hosted in the United States (U.S.) and are intended solely for legal residents located within the U.S. Individuals who choose to access these services from the European Union (EU) or other regions with data collection and usage laws that differ from or are more stringent than those of the U.S. should be aware that accessing our services will involve the transfer of personal information outside of the U.S. for storage and processing.

International Transfer

Customer information, including Personal Information, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction for customer service or to process transactions. 

By using the service, customers consent to information being transferred to other countries, including countries that have different data protection rules than the U.S. LiftFund does not represent that the service is appropriate or available in any jurisdiction. 

If customers are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the information, including Personal Information, to United States and process it there. 

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

Links To Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. 

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

Only persons age 18 or older have permission to access our Service. Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 (“Children”). 

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you learn that your Children have provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a children under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Privacy Settings

Although we may allow users to adjust privacy settings limiting access to personal information, note there are no security measures which are perfect or impenetrable. LiftFund is not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures on the service, nor can we control actions if users choose to share confidential information. Even after information posted on the service is removed, caching, and archiving services on the user side may have saved information, and unknown users or third parties might have copied or stored information available on the service.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of August 10, 2017 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time, and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us with, or by placing a prominent notice on our website.

California Privacy Rights

California customers are entitled to request information relating to whether a business has disclosed personal information to any third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We will not sell or transfer customer personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes without consent.
