Kerr County Small Business Recovery Program
The Kerr County Small Business Recovery Program is designed to meet small businesses where they are after the floods. By offering affordable financing and hands-on technical assistance, the program supports Kerr County and Comfort, TX businesses in their next stage of recovery. LiftFund, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, provides multiple pathways to recovery, recognizing that resilience looks different for every business.

Affordable Financing
- 0% interest rate loan.
- Loans up to $500,000.
- 12- to 120-month terms.
- Waived origination fees.
- Small businesses located in Kerr County or Comfort, TX.
- Must demonstrate physical damage as a result of 2025 or 2026 floods.
- Funds for rebuilding expenses, replacement costs for lost/damaged equipment, cleanup and debris removal, general business operating expenses, or refinancing of higher-cost debt. Working capital needed due to economic injury is limited to 20% of the total loan amount.

As part of this program, recipients are expected to re-open and/or remain open in Kerr County or Comfort, TX for at least 18 months following receipt of funds.
To be eligible, neither the business nor its owners should have sufficient cash-on-hand or other readily available financial resources, such as checking or savings accounts, stocks, certificates of deposit (CDs), or bonds, to reasonably stabilize, continue, or restore business operations without assistance.
Applicants must also submit documentation to verify direct physical damage caused by the flood.
No. Eligible businesses must demonstrate direct physical damage to property, equipment, etc. Examples of eligible documentation include photos, invoices, receipts, insurance records, etc.

Grants are a critical step in disaster recovery, but they are not enough to support full small business recovery for businesses with extensive physical damage or economic injury, that have also had issues accessing other financing options.
To remove financial barriers and accelerate recovery in Kerr County and Comfort, TX, LiftFund is offering:

- Eliminating interest and origination fees reduces upfront and long-term costs for business owners when cash flow is most fragile.
- The waived loan origination fee is offered for the first time ever and exclusively for the Kerr community.
