Kerr County Small Business Recovery Program
The Kerr County Small Business Recovery Program is designed to meet small businesses where they are after the floods. By offering access to grants, affordable financing, and hands-on technical assistance, the program supports Kerr County and Comfort, TX businesses in their next stage of recovery. LiftFund, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, provides multiple pathways to recovery, recognizing that resilience looks different for every business.
*Completed applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
Grant Program
- Grants up to $50,000
- Small businesses or nonprofits located in Kerr County or Comfort, TX that experienced negative impact from the flood, whether physical damage and/or economic injury
- Funds for rebuilding expenses, replacement costs for lost/damaged equipment, general business operating expenses
- Must have been in operation before July 1, 2025. See below for documentation requirements.

- Small businesses located in Kerr County or Comfort, TX
- Funds for rebuilding expenses, replacement costs for lost/damaged equipment, general business operating expenses

- Entity formation document
- Most recent utility bill
- 2024 filed business tax return and 2025 profit and loss statement, or for businesses that began on or after January 1, 2025, the January-June 2025 profit and loss statement and the July-December 2025 profit and loss statement.
- Most recent business bank statement
- Grant resolution, if applicable (template provided in application)
- Voided check
- Estimates, invoices, or contractor statements for repair work necessitated by the July 4th floods, if applicable.
- Attestation of no duplication of funds (template provided in application)
- Three photos of physical damage, if applicable
- One photo of your business pre-flood
- If a nonprofit, please also provide a list of the Board of Directors and a 501 c3 determination letter.

LiftFund is a nonprofit, mission-driven small business partner that has supported disaster recovery since Hurricane Katrina. We aim to be a driving force, transforming communities into vibrant hubs of opportunity, resilience and economic independence. Our priority is access to affordable and fair capital, especially in times of crisis.
Grants are a critical step in disaster recovery, but they are not enough to support full small business recovery for businesses with extensive physical damage or economic injury, that have also had issues accessing other financing options.
To remove financial barriers and accelerate recovery in Kerr County, LiftFund is offering:
- Zero-interest rate loans with no origination fees
- Eliminating interest and origination fees reduces upfront and long-term costs for business owners when cash flow is most fragile.
The waived loan origination fee is offered for the first time ever and exclusively for the Kerr community.

- Flexible collateral requirements
- Flexible collateral requirements ensure more businesses can qualify for the capital they need to reopen even if they have loss of property or inventory.
- Terms anywhere from 12 - 180 months that reflect LiftFund’s commitment to meeting small businesses where they are and supporting a faster, more equitable recovery.
Review and approval are quick and without hurdles and complicated processes and funds are available as soon as 48 hours once approval is made. LiftFund provides technical assistance to ensure the business owner can navigate the application and paperwork process smoothly.
Pairing grants with affordable, structured loans means you can rebuild immediately, reopen sooner, and start generating revenue while repaying over time. This approach helps business owners:
