2026 Flood Rebuilding Grant Program

Small businesses across Kerr County and Comfort, TX are once again facing crisis as new floods threaten their recovery. We’re here to help you access the support you need to rebuild, reopen, and recover.

The 2026 Flood Rebuilding Grant Program is designed to support small businesses that experienced physical damage due to the 2026 floods. By offering access to grants the program supports Kerr County and Comfort, TX businesses in their next stage of recovery. LiftFund, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, provides a path to recovery, recognizing that resilience looks different for every business.

 

*Completed applications will be assessed and scored based on a scoring methodology. Applications with the highest scores will be reviewed, approved, notified and funded first (if eligible).

Program Highlights

  • Grants up to $50,000
  • Small businesses or nonprofits located in Kerr County or Comfort, TX that suffered physical damage as a result of the July 2026 floods
  • Funds for rebuilding expenses, replacement costs, or lost/damaged equipment
  • Must have been in operation on or before July 1, 2025. See below for eligibility and documentation requirements.

Applications open Monday, August 3, at 9:00 a.m. CT. Until then, complete the Interest Form below to receive a notification as soon as the application is available.

Process Timeline

  • Application Acceptance Period: August 3 at 9:00 a.m. CT - August 20 at 5:00 p.m. CT
  • Application Review, Award Notifications & Funding: August 21 - September 30
Eligibility Requirements for Grant Program
  • Business registered and operating on or before July 1, 2025
  • Business must be located in Kerr County or Comfort, TX
  • Business suffered physical damage as a result of the July 2026 floods
  • Business expects to re-open and/or remain open in Kerr County or Comfort, TX for at least 18 months following receipt of funds
  • Neither the business nor its owners have enough cash or other readily available financial resources, such as checking or savings accounts, stocks, certificates of deposit (CDs), or bonds, to reasonably stabilize, continue, or restore business operations without grant assistance.
Required Documents for Grant Program
  • Valid driver's license

  • Entity formation document

  • Most recent business utility bill

  • 2025 filed business Tax Return. (2024 Return accepted if 2025 has not yet been filed)

  • April, May, June  business bank statements 

  • April, May, June personal bank statements for all members of the business with 20% or more ownership  (Not required for nonprofit applicants)

  • Documentation of replacement costs. (Quotes from contractors for repairs, purchase orders for inventory or equipment replacement, comparables for equipment to be replaced) 

  • Voided check

  • Three photos of physical damage

  • If a nonprofit, please also provide a list of the Board of Directors and a 501 c3 determination letter
