LiftFund: Communities Rebuild After Harvey

In the weeks since Harvey struck southeast Texas, we have seen communities and small businesses work together to help those in need. LiftFund is proud to support our communities and clients as they begin the long road to recovery.

Refugio, Texas

Sweet Patooties, a floral and crafting business owned by Dana and David Alsup, was among the many shops and retail businesses hit hard by Harvey. In the wake of incredible devastation, the couple knew that the community needed help. The couple used the side of the Sweet Patooties building to set up a supply and grocery distribution center, bringing food and important supplies to individuals and families in need.

The town has lost several churches, businesses and homes to the storm, but the community hopes to get electricity again within the next few weeks.

“[We’re] just all trying to help one another and waiting for help to arrive,” Dana wrote in a recent text. “ We are all in move out, demo and cleanup modes as we speak… ”

LiftFund stands strong with the small businesses affected by Harvey, and our special loan program aims to help them get back on their feet.
