It’s only been 30 years since the passing of H.R. 5050 in the United States, which granted women the right to secure business loans without a male co-signer and created the National Women’s Business Council.

What’s changed since then and what more needs to be done?

San Antonio is a top city for women-owned businesses based on “economic clout” – the number of firms, employment and revenue  – over the last 15 years, as well as a nationwide leader for employment vitality, according to a 2017 report.

What makes San Antonio different from other Texas cities when it comes to building a business? What issues matter to women entrepreneurs?

Has the #MeToo movement spurred change in the demand or support for women-owned businesses?
