Inclusive Innovation: Can Entrepreneuship Drive a More Equitable New Orleans
March 21 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pmFree
Entrepreneurship and innovation go hand-in-hand. By introducing new ideas and approaches to societal problems, entrepreneurship puts us all on the same playing field and unites us on a team to share our experiences. This environment allows us to collaborate in trying to tackle the problems of the community, region, and world that surround us. Entrepreneurship requires not only innovation but also flexibility, communication, observation, and adaptiveness. The connection of these traits has the potential to open pathways for equity and inclusion in New Orleans that have not previously existed.
With the use of discussion prompts in combination with panelist responses based on opinion and experience, we will facilitate a discussion that clarifies, concretizes, and determines the validity of the above claims. We will challenge attendees to think beyond their preconceived notions on the definition of entrepreneurship and to consider how entrepreneurship can open channels to equity and inclusion in our city and beyond.
You will leave the session with a better understanding of:
Ways that entrepreneurship can be a catalyst for increasing equity and inclusion in New Orleans and beyond
How nonprofit and for-profit organizations can both use tactics and attitudes of entrepreneurship in order to develop equity
The underlying principles of entrepreneurship: observation, innovation, iteration, and dedication, can serve as are key drivers of widespread inclusion
